Elizabeth Gertrude Knight Britton (1857-1934) was a bryologist, educator and one of the founders of the New York Botanical Garden. She served as Honorary Curator of Mosses from 1912-1929. she was born Elizabeth Gertrude Knight in New York City on January 9, 1857.
